02 · Our Process — Build

Built right. Built to last.

Twenty years of building in Western Wisconsin weather. New homes, additions, pole sheds, and garages — built to the same standards, on schedule, on budget, and made to outlast their warranty period by a long shot.

Phase 01

Prep

Permits, site prep, and material staging — done before a stake goes in the ground.

Phase 02

Frame

Foundation, framing, and a weather-tight envelope. The bones of the build, done square.

Phase 03

Finish

Mechanicals, drywall, trim, finishes. Every detail under one team's accountability.

Phase 04

Hand-off

Final walkthrough, punch list, and warranty paperwork. We don't leave until it's right.

02 · The Approach

Why our builds last.

Wisconsin doesn't go easy on buildings. Forty-below winters, freeze-thaw cycles, ice damming, lake-effect snow — and that's before you factor in the spring storms and the summer humidity. A house built to the bare-minimum code might pass inspection, but it won't hold up the way it should over twenty winters.

We build to code-plus standards — better insulation values, tighter envelope details, beefier headers, better fasteners. Where it matters, we spend the extra hour and the extra dollar on the parts you'll never see, because those are the parts that determine whether your home is comfortable and durable in year fifteen.

You get that quality because Josh inspects every phase personally — and because the same trades who frame your house will be the ones running trim and finishing it. One team, one standard, one accountable owner.

"You can't see most of what makes a house last. So the work has to be right when no one's watching."
03 · Deliverables

Built to a higher standard.

Wisconsin code is the floor — not the ceiling. Every Humble Homes build goes beyond minimum spec on the parts of the house that determine how it'll perform in year fifteen, not just year one.

01

Code-plus construction

Better insulation values, tighter envelope details, beefier headers, structural fasteners spec'd for the load — not the minimum.

02

Wisconsin-grade envelope

Wall and roof assemblies designed for forty-below winters, freeze-thaw cycles, ice damming, and lake-effect snow loads.

03

Phase-by-phase quality checks

Josh inspects every phase personally — framing, mechanicals, insulation, drywall, finish. Issues get caught and fixed before they're buried.

04

Written workmanship warranty

A one-year written warranty on our workmanship — spelled out clearly, not buried in fine print. Plus manufacturer warranties on materials.

04 · Standards

Licensed, insured, warrantied.

Humble Homes Construction is a fully licensed Wisconsin builder carrying general liability and workers' compensation insurance. You're protected before we ever swing a hammer.

Every project is governed by a written contract with a clearly defined scope, payment schedule, and warranty. We don't take payments for work that hasn't happened, and we don't issue surprise change orders — only the changes you approve in writing.

Permits & site prep

We pull the permits, schedule inspections, and stage the site — utilities, access, erosion control, the parts that happen before anything goes vertical.

02

Foundation & framing

Footings, foundation walls, rough framing, roof system, sheathing, and the dry-in. The bones of the house, built square and to spec.

03

Mechanicals & finishes

Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, drywall, trim, cabinetry, flooring, paint. Licensed sub-trades, inspected by Josh personally at every transition.

04

Walkthrough & warranty

A detailed final walk with a written punch list. Anything not right gets fixed before we hand over keys — and the workmanship warranty starts the day you move in.
