What to know before you open up a wall.
These are the questions we hear most often from families planning a renovation. We’ll walk through all of this in more detail during your consultation.
How much does a typical renovation cost?
Every home is different, but most of our kitchen and main-floor renovations start in the mid five figures and increase with structural changes, custom cabinetry, and finish selections. After your walk-through, we provide a realistic range before moving into detailed design so you can make an informed decision.
Do we need to move out during the renovation?
Not always. Many of our clients stay in their homes while we renovate. We’ll discuss what’s realistic based on the scope of work, location of the renovation area, and your family’s routines. For some projects, we may recommend a short-term move-out during the most disruptive phases.
How long will our renovation take?
Timelines vary by scope—a single bathroom may take 3–4 weeks, while a full main-floor transformation can run 8–12 weeks. During planning, we map out a detailed schedule with key milestones and target dates before any work begins.
Can you help us decide between renovating and building new?
Yes. Because we also design and build new homes, we can give you an honest comparison of both paths based on your lot, budget, and long-term plans. Sometimes the wisest move is to renovate; other times, rebuilding or adding on makes more sense.
